Lung Space‑Occupying Lesion Patient: Cough, Sputum, Hemoptysis, Asthma and Fatigue Improved After 7 Days of Medication

October 22, 2026

Recently, a 76‑year‑old patient with a lung space‑occupying lesion from Maanshan, Anhui Province, achieved remarkable therapeutic effects after treatment at Jiaozuo Zhonghai TCM Cancer Hospital, once again proving the unique value of traditional Chinese medicine in tumor treatment.
The patient, Ms. Zhang, was examined at a local hospital due to cough and hemoptysis. Imaging revealed a space‑occupying lesion in the upper lobe of the left lung and multiple small nodules in both lungs, highly suspected of metastasis. Due to her advanced age, she did not undergo puncture biopsy. In search of TCM treatment, she traveled thousands of miles to Jiaozuo Zhonghai TCM Cancer Hospital.
At admission, she suffered from severe cough with white sputum, occasional dry cough and blood‑tinged sputum, accompanied by asthma, general weakness, night sweats and intermittent palpitations. Her severe cough seriously disrupted her sleep, and her overall physical condition was poor.
After a comprehensive assessment of her condition, Director Zhang formulated a personalized treatment plan: an empirical TCM formula for lung tumors modified according to symptoms, combined with Hua’ai Xiaoliu Powder for comprehensive conditioning and treatment.
Within only 7 days of medication, all symptoms including cough, hemoptysis, shortness of breath, fatigue and night sweats were significantly relieved. Her sleep quality and overall mental state improved greatly.
“I never expected TCM to work so fast. After just seven days, my cough has eased a great deal, and I can finally sleep soundly at night,” Ms. Zhang said with relief.

Director Zhang explained that TCM oncology focuses on syndrome differentiation and holistic regulation. It targets not only local lesions but also replenishes the body’s healthy qi and enhances immunity. For elderly and frail patients unsuitable for surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy, traditional Chinese medicine serves as an ideal and reliable treatment option.
