Mr. Yang from Panjin, Liaoning Province, developed a small ulcer under his tongue half a year ago.
He thought it was just “internal heat” and paid little attention to it.
However, the ulcer kept growing and hardening, and he was later diagnosed with
squamous cell carcinoma of the left ventral tongue.
At the age of 53, he had been outgoing and cheerful, but the swelling, ulceration and severe pain in his tongue made speaking and eating extremely difficult.
Although he took Chinese medicine for nearly two months to clear “heart fire”, his condition continued to worsen.
Eventually, he traveled 1,300 kilometers to seek treatment at Jiaozuo Zhonghai TCM Cancer Hospital.
Director Zhang Zhonghai of our hospital diagnosed his condition as
toxin-heat accumulation and stasis blocking the collaterals, which falls into the category of
Shexun (tongue carcinoma) in traditional Chinese medicine.
He then prescribed a personalized
empirical formula for tongue tumors.
After 10 days of medication, the ulceration on Mr. Yang’s tongue began to heal and the pain subsided.
By day 25, the ulceration had completely disappeared and his speech was almost back to normal.
Although he experienced hand and foot pain during the treatment, it was relieved after adjustment, and the tongue mass shrank and softened significantly.
Today, Mr. Yang can eat and communicate normally, with a smile returning to his face.
He said with emotion: “I never expected such a good recovery before coming.
I am very grateful to Director Zhang and Zhonghai Hospital!”
