Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma Patient: Tumor Mass Markedly Reduced After 15 Days of Medication

April 20, 2026

Mr. Wu, a 50-year-old male patient with tongue squamous cell carcinoma from Chengdu, Sichuan Province, was treated at Jiaozuo Zhonghai TCM Cancer Hospital. Four months ago, without any warning, he suddenly experienced swelling and pain in his tongue. He was subsequently diagnosed with tongue squamous cell carcinoma at a local hospital. Faced with this result, Mr. Wu and his family fell into anxiety. Due to concerns about surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, he chose conservative treatment and took Chinese herbal medicine locally. However, after four months, his condition showed no improvement: the tongue swelling persisted, pain recurred frequently, and even sleep and daily life were severely affected. Just as he was almost giving up hope, a well-known local TCM expert recommended Jiaozuo Zhonghai TCM Cancer Hospital to him, saying, “The TCM cancer treatment there is quite distinctive, and many patients have achieved good results.”
Holding onto a glimmer of hope, on April 25, 2025, Mr. Wu traveled a long distance from Chengdu to Jiaozuo. At the time of consultation: his tongue was swollen and painful, stiff, and the discomfort even radiated to his head and ear, causing unbearable pain. Normal eating became difficult, and he could only 勉强 swallow liquid food. Director Zhang carefully inquired about his medical history, examined his tongue and pulse, and combined these with modern medical test reports to comprehensively assess his condition. Director Zhang believed that although the tumor had affected tongue function, the patient’s overall physical condition was still acceptable and there remained room for treatment. He then formulated a treatment plan: an empirical formula for tongue tumors modified according to symptoms, combined with Hua’ai Xiaoliu Powder. Director Zhang said, “We will first use the medicine for 15 days to observe the effect; the goals are to shrink the tumor, relieve pain, and improve quality of life.”
After 15 days of medication, the tongue pain was significantly reduced, the swelling noticeably subsided, and the flexibility of the previously stiff tongue improved. He could attempt to eat semi-liquid food, and his mental state also improved greatly.
Treatment continued for another half-month, and to everyone’s delight, the tongue mass further decreased, pain disappeared completely, eating basically returned to normal, and he could even slowly chew soft foods. Mr. Wu said excitedly, “I never expected such good results from TCM—now eating and speaking are no longer problems!”

Today, Mr. Wu continues to receive treatment and is full of confidence in his recovery. He stated that the precise medication and personalized plan at Jiaozuo Zhonghai TCM Cancer Hospital have given him hope of overcoming cancer.
