Lung Cancer with Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis: Neck Mass Reduced by Half After 30 Days of Medication

March 23, 2026

Mr. Tang, an 82-year-old male patient from Jiaozuo, Henan Province, was diagnosed with right lung squamous cell carcinoma at a local hospital in February 2024. His initial symptoms included a swollen and painful lymph node on the right side of the neck. Due to his advanced age and concurrent Alzheimer’s disease, his family was deeply concerned about the potential side effects of conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy, leaving them in a difficult situation regarding treatment choices. Five days after the diagnosis, on the recommendation of a close friend, Mr. Tang was brought to Jiaozuo Zhonghai TCM Cancer Hospital to seek treatment with traditional Chinese medicine.
At the initial consultation, Mr. Tang presented with:
• A persistent cough with grayish-black phlegm
・明显 shortness of breath after activity
• General listlessness
• A clearly palpable swollen lymph node on the right side of the neck
Although his appetite, bowel, and bladder functions were relatively normal, and his sleep was not significantly affected, the severity of his condition caused great anxiety for his family.
After a thorough evaluation of Mr. Tang’s medical history and current symptoms, Director Zhang formulated a personalized treatment plan:
• An empirical TCM formula for lung tumors, modified according to his symptoms
• Combined with Hua’ai Xiaoliu Powder
• Plus inpatient treatment with the hospital’s “Wabo Therapy”
This approach took full account of his advanced age and underlying conditions while leveraging the holistic regulatory and pathogen‑eliminating strengths of TCM.
Remarkably, after 31 doses of herbal medicine and 4 sessions of Wabo Therapy, Mr. Tang’s condition improved significantly:
• The long‑standing cough and phlegm disappeared completely
• Shortness of breath and fatigue were greatly reduced
Even more encouraging were the imaging results:
• The right lung mass decreased from 18×13 mm to 12×8 mm
• The right cervical lymph node shrank from 61×41 mm to 38×19 mm
As treatment continued, after 52 doses of herbal medicine and 8 sessions of Wabo Therapy, the latest follow‑up examination brought further good news:
• The right cervical lymph node had diminished even more, to 23×11 mm

These outcomes have restored confidence in Mr. Tang’s family, who have personally witnessed the unique advantages of TCM in improving symptoms and controlling tumor progression.
