Gastric Signet-Ring Cell Carcinoma Patient: Symptoms Alleviated After 20 Days of Medication

October 22, 2026

One month ago, 76-year-old Mr. Li from Jincheng, Shanxi Province, experienced a sudden health crisis. Once robust and weighing 80 kilograms, he sought medical attention at a local hospital due to gradually worsening dysphagia. The result was worrying: space-occupying lesions were found in the lower esophagus, cardia and gastric fundus. A subsequent puncture biopsy confirmed a challenging diagnosis — signet-ring cell carcinoma at the esophagogastric junction, with the tumor invading the submucosa of the esophagus.
After diagnosis, Mr. Li received one cycle of chemotherapy at a local hospital. However, the physical toll of chemotherapy and persistent severe symptoms left his family deeply anxious. They understood that for their elderly father, Western medicine alone might not be sufficient. Eager to find a gentler, holistic treatment to ease his suffering and improve his quality of life, the family brought him to Jiaozuo Zhonghai TCM Cancer Hospital on the strong recommendation of a relative.
At the initial visit, Mr. Li’s condition was severe. He suffered from difficult swallowing and choking while eating, and could only barely take soft and liquid food. He also had frequent sticky sputum and dry stools. Afflicted by the disease, his weight dropped drastically from 80 kg to 60 kg. He became emaciated and his mental state declined greatly.
In view of his complex condition, Director Zhang formulated an individualized integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment plan. While chemotherapy was used to inhibit cancer cells, the hospital’s characteristic TCM preparation Chuye Powder was adopted as the core adjuvant therapy. It works to detoxify and dissipate masses, promote blood circulation and regulate qi, unblock the digestive tract and relieve dysphagia, so as to ease discomforts and reduce chemotherapy side effects.
After taking 20 doses of Chuye Powder combined with one cycle of chemotherapy, Mr. Li achieved encouraging improvements. His swallowing difficulty was greatly relieved, choking episodes reduced, sticky sputum decreased significantly, and bowel movements became smoother. Most importantly, his adverse reactions to this course of chemotherapy were markedly milder than before, fully reflecting the synergistic advantages of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in relieving clinical symptoms and reducing chemotherapy-related discomfort.
