Xue, a 71-year-old female patient from Lüliang City, Shanxi Province, was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma at a local hospital in Jiaozuo Zhonghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Cancer Hospital a month ago due to persistent coughing and loss of appetite. The diagnosis was shocking: the cancer had already metastasized to the liver, bones, pleura, and supraclavicular lymph nodes. Given the extensive metastasis of cancer cells, surgery was no longer a viable option. The doctors conducted further genetic testing and fortunately discovered a targeted drug, Almonertinib, that was suitable for her condition. Considering the severity of her illness, the local doctors recommended that Ms. Xue take this targeted drug orally to control the progression of her disease.
After being introduced by a friend, they came to Jiaozuo Zhonghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Tumor Hospital. When she was examined, Aunt Xue's symptoms were worrying: she not only had a stimulating cough, coughing up white phlegm, but also felt chest tightness and shortness of breath, pain in the left back, pleural effusion, and loss of appetite. Although her sleep and bowel movements were still okay, her obvious weight loss was heart-wrenching.
After a detailed understanding of Aunt Xue's condition, Director Zhang Zhonghai of our hospital formulated a comprehensive treatment plan: adjusting the traditional formula for lung tumors based on her symptoms, combining it with the cancer-inhibiting and tumor-reducing powder, and simultaneously administering drugs to suppress bone metastasis, while continuing to take Aumitinib orally. After the treatment began, Aunt Xue's condition gradually improved. Five doses of the medicine were administered (as Aunt Xue experienced nausea when drinking the traditional Chinese medicine due to poor appetite, the dosage was changed to one dose every two days). Her cough and expectoration symptoms lessened, chest tightness and shortness of breath were alleviated, the pain in her left back reduced, and her appetite began to increase.
After taking 20 doses of traditional Chinese medicine, Aunt Xue had a follow-up examination again. The results showed that the tumor had shrunk and the amount of fluid in the left pleural cavity had decreased. This news greatly encouraged and gave hope to her and her family.
