The incidence rate of metastatic liver cancer is only second to that of hepatocellular carcinoma. The main ways of metastasis are direct invasion of adjacent organs, lymph node metastasis, portal vein metastasis, and hepatic artery metastasis.
Characteristics of liver metastatic cancer: There is often a history of primary malignant tumors, multiple pathways of metastasis, multiple intrahepatic metastatic lesions, and most of the metastatic lesions lack blood supply.
CT manifestation: Plain scan shows multiple circular and quasi circular low density shadows of varying sizes in the liver, with relatively uniform density. Tumor necrosis is more common, and lower density shadows appear within the tumor body. Bleeding presents as high-density shadows. Transferring a few can be done separately. Enhanced examination showed mild enhancement at the edge, low-density shadow at the center of the lesion without enhancement, high-density shadow at the edge, and a low-density edema zone around the mass, forming the "cow's eye sign", which is a characteristic change of metastatic cancer.
