What is the reason why breast cancer patients are diagnosed as advanced for the first time

1. What is the reason that the initial diagnosis of breast cancer patients is late

The first diagnosis is that advanced breast cancer can be divided into two situations: one is that other organs have distant metastasis except for breast lesions; The other is that although there is no distant metastasis of other organs, there is no opportunity for surgery due to the huge primary focus of the breast or local erosion, ulceration, skin redness and swelling, which is called local advanced breast cancer.

The breast is a superficial organ of the human body, and patients can easily detect abnormalities through self-examination, and the detection of breast lesions is relatively early. But why does it still occur that the initial diagnosis is in the late stage? The reasons for this are analyzed as follows:

① Breast cancer often presents as a painless mass, and the patient has no discomfort;

② The patient lacks relevant medical knowledge, fails to pay attention to the discovery of breast lesions, or fails to seek medical treatment in time due to economic reasons, or even uses local external application drugs, acupuncture and moxibustion and other methods to stimulate its growth, resulting in rapid growth of breast cancer primary lesions and even distant metastasis;

③ The patient is located in a remote area with limited medical resources and poor medical conditions, and is diagnosed with benign breast disease for treatment, resulting in delayed treatment;

④ Breast cancer is a systemic disease, which may have distant metastasis in the early stage. Some patients may experience distant metastasis to other organs when the primary breast lesion is very small, or even when the breast lesion cannot be detected.

⑤ The survival period of breast cancer is long, and the growth of breast mass often has no symptoms, which does not affect life for a long time, so patients delay diagnosis and treatment.

Regular breast self-examination and regular breast cancer screening are essential for early detection, diagnosis and treatment.

2. Will both breasts develop cancer at the same time or at different times

The incidence rate of bilateral breast cancer accounts for 0.2%~12% of all breast cancer. In medicine, this kind of mutually independent breast cancer occurring successively is called bilateral primary breast cancer. If the interval is less than 6 months, it is called simultaneity. If the interval is greater than or equal to 6 months, it is called heterochronous. Compared with ordinary people, unilateral breast cancer patients are more likely to have contralateral breast cancer. Therefore, breast cancer patients should be regularly followed up and reexamined after completing surgery and adjuvant treatment.
