Biopsy, referred to as "biopsy", is mainly an important medical method to determine the nature of lesions. In gastroscopy, biopsy is used as the "final diagnosis" of most diseases. Clamp some mucosal tissue and use these tissues to examine in vitro to confirm the diagnosis of some diseases. Currently, biopsies should be considered under the following circumstances:

Assist clinical diagnosis of lesions or provide clues for disease diagnosis.

To understand the nature and development trend of the disease and to judge the prognosis of the disease.

To verify and observe the efficacy of drugs, so as to provide reference basis for clinical use of drugs.

Participate in clinical research, discover new diseases or new types, and provide histopathological basis for clinical research.

2. Why is chest CT recommended for patients with gastric cancer?

Any malignant tumor has the risk of metastasis (diffusion). Once metastasis occurs in patients with gastric cancer, especially the lung metastasis in the advanced stage of gastric cancer, it will bring great difficulties to the late treatment of patients and will directly affect the formulation of treatment plan for gastric cancer. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is not superior to CT in the examination of lungs, and the cost is higher, so chest CT is very important in staging, pre-and post-operation and re-examination of gastric cancer before and after chemotherapy.
