Is Hp contagious Can gastric cancer be prevented

August 16, 2023

1. Hp is infectious.

Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection is possible. It mainly exists in the stomach, mouth and feces. The bacteria carried by these three may be infected if they have a chance to reach the mouth. People are the only source of infection of Helicobacter pylori, and the route of transmission is the digestive tract. High infection in children and familial aggregation are the remarkable characteristics of Hp infection. Family transmission may be the main route of Hp infection, such as a family picking up food for their children with chopsticks and feeding their children with their mouths can lead to Hp infection.

Hp should be transmitted through the following ways: 1 oral transmission: such as kissing, oral feeding, sharing tableware water cups and so on. 2Oral transmission: Hp can be transmitted into the oral cavity through gastroesophageal reflux. 3 fecal-oral transmission: Hp can be excreted with feces, people eating food and water contaminated by Helicobacter pylori may be infected.

2. Gastric cancer can be prevented.

As a chronic disease, gastric cancer is preventable like other neoplastic diseases. Data show that if early gastric cancer can be detected in time, the cure rate can reach more than 90%. At present, the main means of prevention we use are three-level prevention.

Primary prevention:

Correct bad living habits, especially bad eating habits, eat regularly and quantitatively, adjust the diet, pay attention to balanced nutrition, do not eat mildew, pickling, smoking and other foods; quit smoking and limit alcohol; it is also particularly important to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude.

Secondary prevention:

It is the so-called "three early" prevention, that is, early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment. Monitor the high-risk groups of gastric cancer, once diagnosed, strive for comprehensive treatment as soon as possible.

Tertiary prevention:

Strengthen the comprehensive treatment for the patients with advanced gastric cancer, improve the survival rate, reduce the pain of the patients with advanced gastric cancer and improve the quality of life.
