In ancient Chinese medicine literature, esophageal cancer is also called "choke diaphragm". Choking refers to difficulty in swallowing; diaphragm refers to blockage of the chest and diaphragm and difficulty in eating or drinking. It is commonly known as "sickness if you can't eat". In the rural areas of northern and northwestern Henan, there are sayings such as "eat autumn but not wheat, and wheat but not autumn". Most of them die of starvation after a year or so.
Esophageal cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the esophageal mucosa, with progressive dysphagia as the main symptom. The Taihang Mountain area at the junction of the three provinces of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan is a high-incidence area for esophageal cancer in the north. Long-term drinking of strong alcohol, eating too fast, overheating, eating too hard, too thick or strongly irritating food, and eating smoked, pickled, mildewed food, etc., are the causes of this disease.
Modern medicine usually treats esophageal cancer with Western medicine methods such as surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy to relieve symptoms and prolong life. But many people give up treatment halfway because they cannot tolerate surgical trauma and drug side effects. The treatment of esophageal cancer and cardia cancer based on syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine has definite curative effect, especially suitable for patients who are unwilling to accept surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Traditional Chinese medicine treats dyspnea, or focuses on the deficiency and cold in the stomach, and advocates warming the middle; or focuses on stagnation of liver qi, advocates soothing the liver, regulating qi, and relieving depression; Warming and tonifying directly: or focus on the location and condition of the disease, lightly lift those who are suitable for ascending, and lower it for those who are suitable for descending.
1. Diagnosis
1. Western medicine diagnosis. Esophageal cancer X-ray can be divided into medullary type, mushroom type, ulcer type, constriction type, and intraluminal type. The histological classification of esophageal cancer is mostly squamous cell carcinoma. Early symptoms may include substernal discomfort, burning sensation or pain, food swallowing stagnation, obstruction, hiccups, belching, etc. Symptoms in the middle and late stages are mainly progressive dysphagia, persistent vomiting of mucus, pain, bleeding, hoarseness, and weight loss.
2. TCM diagnosis. Worry, depression, anger, injury from drinking and eating, loss of qi and blood, insufficient congenital endowment, and poor ecological environment.

2. Zhang Zhonghai's traditional Chinese medicine prescription (suitable for esophageal cancer and cardia cancer)
15 grams of impatients, 15 grams of Clematis, 15 grams of Radix Isatidis, 15 grams of Baishui, 15 grams of Shegan, 15 grams of Donglingcao, 15 grams of Shandougen, 9 grams of pinellia, 10 grams of tangerine peel, 6 grams of artificial bezoar ), decoct in water, take once a day, morning and evening.
Addition and subtraction according to the syndrome: if the condition is too late and the obstruction is severe, add 15 grams of Inula inula, 30 grams of ocher; for chest and back pain, add 15 grams of Notopterygium, 20 grams of Corydalis Corydalis, and 20 grams of Gouji; Those who add, 15 grams of Chuanjun, 12 grams of hemp seed, clinical observation, repeatedly tested and repeated effects.
3. Therapeutic side
1. Minced meat soup with amomum fish maw (esophageal cancer of phlegm-qi obstruction type). Amomum 6 grams (broken, wrapped in gauze for later use), soaked and shredded fish maw 50 grams, minced lean pork 15 grams. Add appropriate amount of water, simmer the fish maw until most of it melts, add amomum and minced meat and cook for 30 minutes, remove the amomum, add salt to taste, and serve warm.
2. Shenru Wuzhi ointment (esophageal cancer with qi deficiency and fluid deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis). 10 grams of ginseng, 300 ml of milk, 60 grams of fresh reed root, 30 grams of longan meat, 60 grams each of sugar cane and pear, 15 grams of ginger, and an appropriate amount of honey.
