There are many Meng temples in the world, and there is only one Yasheng ancestral hall. There are many Mencius temples, Mencius ancestral halls and Mencius memorial halls all over the country, but the Yasheng Temple in Nangeng Village, Xiaodong Township, Wuyi County is unique. Nangeng Village has more than 560 households and 2460 people, 95% of whom are Meng. Meng's relatives over the age of 60 share a "charitable dumpling banquet" that symbolizes filial piety, respect for the elderly, and happiness.
The Yasheng Temple was built in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. At the end of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, the wall collapsed, the painting was eroded, the temple was discolored, and the courtyard was abandoned. During the Jiaqing period, the people led the public to raise funds for reconstruction. In the 22nd year of Daoguang, the renovation project was completed. Before the founding of New China, there were still semi-Luanjia, golden melon, axe, pedal to the sky and official plates with the words "silence" and "avoidance" in the temple.According to the inscription in the temple, Meng is originally from Zouyi, Shandong Province (now Zoucheng, Shandong Province). In the early Ming Dynasty, Meng Yanhu and Yanzhang were ordered to move to Wuyi from Shan you and lived in Dongzhang Village of Xitao Town and Geng Village of Xiaodong Township. The clan relatives of the two villages offered sacrifices to each other every three years. In the imperial system, the descendants of Yasheng in Nangeng Village and Dongzhang Village enjoyed certain privileges. In the 12th year of Tongzhi, there was an official seal of Tongzhi notice, a notice of the month of LXXVI, a stone in the shrine of Asia, a message to the clan, and a message to future generations.Nowadays, Meng Heping, a descendant of Meng in Nangeng Village, once served as political commissar and senior colonel of Liupanshui military District in Guizhou Province.
