On October 21, 2023, in order to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine cancer prevention and cancer rehabilitation in Jiaozuo City and strengthen academic exchanges among medical institutions at all levels, the Jiaozuo City Traditional Chinese Medicine Association held the "Jiaozuo City Traditional Chinese Medicine Association" in the academic conference hall of Jiaozuo Yanyangtian Hotel. This conference, which provided technical and academic support from Jiaozuo Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and was hosted by Jiaozuo Zhonghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Cancer Hospital, democratically elected the chairman, deputy chairman, and members of the Jiaozuo Traditional Chinese Medicine Cancer Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee. Song Hanqiu, chief traditional Chinese physician and well-known scholar of Jiaozuo Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, was elected as the chairman. Six people including Zhang Zhonghai, the 16th generation descendant of Zhang Jingyue, a medical scientist in the Ming Dynasty, the 14th generation inheritor of the "Zhang Family of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and the academic director of Jiaozuo Zhonghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Cancer Hospital, were elected as deputy directors. Zhang Maomao, the fifteenth generation inheritor of the "Zhang Family of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and director of Jiaozuo Zhonghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Cancer Hospital, was elected as the secretary of the special committee.
With the development of oncology medicine, the level of diagnosis and treatment of tumors continues to improve, and the survival period of cancer patients is gradually extended. People are paying more and more attention to the comprehensive health of the body, mind, and social adaptability. The quality of life of cancer patients has become a new indicator to measure the prognosis of tumors. Cancer rehabilitation treatment with the main goal of improving the quality of life has become an urgent clinical need. Song Hanqiu, the first chairman of the special committee, said that the Jiaozuo Traditional Chinese Medicine Cancer Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee is not only a platform for exchanges and cooperation between the traditional Chinese medicine oncology and cancer rehabilitation communities, but also a platform for resource sharing. The establishment of the special committee will further promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine oncology and cancer rehabilitation in our city and establish a regional traditional Chinese medicine and rehabilitation treatment system for cancer patients in our city. The special committee will organize various academic activities to enhance academic influence, attract TCM oncology and oncology rehabilitation talents, and promote the high-quality development of TCM oncology and oncology rehabilitation in the region.
During the academic annual meeting, Professor Ma Wang, PhD in oncology, doctoral supervisor, former dean of the School of Medicine at Henan University of Technology, visiting scholar at Harvard Medical School, and deputy director of the Oncology Department of Zhengzhou University Affiliated Hospital, gave a speech entitled "Tumors Can Be Prevented and Preventable" "Controllable and Curable" academic lecture. Song Hanqiu, chief traditional Chinese physician of Jiaozuo Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, gave a special speech on "Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Tumor Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation". Zhang Tingting, the fifteenth generation inheritor of the "Zhang Family of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and a young physician at Jiaozuo Zhonghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Cancer Hospital, represented the hospital and gave a themed report titled "Sharing Clinical Experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment of Cancer".
Experts and scholars brought a vivid and full academic feast through simple and easy-to-understand teaching methods. The content was closely integrated with clinical practice. Participants expressed that they benefited a lot.
